Sex Is Not a Performance Art

Sex is not a performance art;
It is not Cirque du Soleil.
You cannot film the beat of two hearts
And turn their rhythm into a public display.

Love cannot be captured in a photograph;
It cannot be performed on stage.
A heart's content cannot be detected on a sonograph;
Intimacy should never be confined to a glass cage.

A bedroom is a sanctuary where the soul is enshrined
And sex is essential to flourishing—it is the form love embodies.
However casual sex can leave stretch marks on the mind
Much like how overeating can leave stretch marks on the body.

Love is seeing someone's mind as your scripture.
Lust is seeing someone's body as your church.
In a loving relationship sex must be a fixture
For love without sex is like faith without works.
